DESIGN ENGINEER (NORTH TYNESIDE)
COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:
Our client is well established engineering/ business and world leader in their field.
This role represents an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer. The successful candidate will play a key role in the creation and development of innovative industrial pressure Vessel related products. You will also be involved in mentoring less experienced members of the team This position entails converting conceptual ideas into concrete designs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to produce new products. The Design Engineer will employ CAD software to create technical drawings and models, perform simulations and analyses, and refine designs based on feedback and testing outcomes. Furthermore, the role requires close collaboration with production teams to navigate manufacturing constraints and enhance designs for efficient, cost-effective production.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
ESSENTIAL
• Qualified to BEng, HND/C or similar level in an engineering
• Experienced mechanical design engineer, will and able to mentor other team member where necessary
• Able to produce engineering calculations (ideally linked to stresses and strains)
• Willing and able to play a key role in the mentoring of other team members
• Ideally possess a basic knowledge of pressure equipment and applications
DESIRABLE NOT ESSENTIAL
• Knowledge and application of pressure vessel related standards e.g. API / ASME
• Experience of pressure vessel or related design and associated products.
• Hazardous area regulations (such as PED/PESR and UKEX/ATEX)Details of Package: Basic salary up to £53,000 PA (Day Shift) + Overtime (premium rate) + Competitive Benefits
Day shift: Average of 37 Hours per week over two weeks (Hours of work: 0700-1600 Monday to Thursday (Friday 0700-1300)
