OPERATIONS MANAGER
COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:
Our client is an established, and growing leader in their sector, with strong and sustained investment. Their Manufactured Joinery service provision ranges from Contract / Subcontract Joinery and fitting to specialist Joinery and bespoke projects. They supply sectors as diverse as Education, Health. Retails and Leisure. The business plays a prominent role with and is part of a major North east based group of companies.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and astute individual to put their mark on a strong, established and successful business, and to inspire a strong team.
You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, including the overseeing of their Manufactured Joinery / production operation, financial performance, key staff member mentoring / development, and achieving daily, weekly and monthly targets, with extensively involved in driving the business forward and helping it to achieve growth from existing markets while extending into in new ones. You will also work closely with the Commercial Manager to achieve operational objectives.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manage day to day business activities
•Work / Liaise closely with the commercial manager
•Contribute to new business initiatives and projects
•Continual development of new and existing products
•Contribute to the discussion and decision-making process for the growth and development of the business as a whole.
•Mentor/ coach and develop key personnel, developing a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvement
•Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities
•Build relationships with internal and external contacts
NB: Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, as the role will involve travel.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
•Demonstrable experience gained within a management / Operations role
•Demonstrable experience / knowledge of joinery / manufactured Joinery
•Exceptional leadership and organisational skills
•Highly astute, with strong commercial awareness
•Able to evaluate objectively and make effective decisions
•Knowledge of business process and functions (preferably covering finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
•Strong analytical ability
•Excellent communication skills
•Strong administration skills with the ability to work proficiently on MS Excel and other related packages
•Knowledge of sub-contracting would be preferred
Details of Package: Up to £55,000 PA (Depending on experience) + Bonus (details available upon discussion) + Car or car Allowance + Benefits Inc. 25 days paid holidays + Bank holidays (Hours of work Mon – Thursday 8-00am 4-30pm Friday 3-30pm)
